1. When you search for a term and get a list, is there anyway of jumping to the page that has that keyword? If the thread is very long, it is sometimes difficult to find the part that talks about your problem.

2. avatars. If I have a picture that I want to make my avatar, what do I have to do to get it in the right format for adding to my signature? I have photoshop but when I use it, it usually makes the size of the file in bytes bigger.

I don't know about the avatars question (never tried it).

As for your first question, use Advanced Search then at the bottom of Search Options, select Show posts. This will return a list of individual posts that match rather than a list of threads (I think). It certainly works when searching for posts by user - I use that to find conversations I've had in the past if I can't remember the thread subject.

Cheers,
Brian

I just added an avatar to my profile. It's 78x78 pixels and 2.31KB filesize (the User CP says it should be a maximum of 80x80 or 19.5KB - whichever smaller).

If I save the original JPG file to GIF, PNG and 24-bit BMP, I get the following file sizes respectively - 3.43KB, 15.8KB and 18KB. I use the native Windows Paint application - it might be a bit primative but it handles the mainstream graphics formats quite nicely.

Cheers,
Brian

It's the Squonk (my nickname when I was an apprentice).

See...http://www.prehistoric.org.uk/general/squonk.html

I don't know whose page that is but they've obviously used the handle on bulletin boards and forums etc. I still use it on one forum I use and also for the late night trivia quiz on my local radio station.

Cheers,
Brian

A trick of the tail was the first Genesis Album I ever heard. One of their better efforts but it all went downhill eventually.

To me that album started the decline downhill but then I don't know how they could have matched the performances in Foxtrot, Selling England by the Pound and The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway on record or especially live.

OMG, a Genesis thread!.

agreed, they are the top three, possibly in that order. but what about Duke!!

Perhaps we should have a poll to vote for our fav album......

I saw them twice, And Then There Were Three and Duke. Both were great concerts but they were much more together for the Duke concert.
Glad they are coming back again but fear they will continue their 'pop' style.
