Hi all,

yesterday i did a complete reinstall of my system: Windows Server 2003, SP2, .NET 2.0, IE7, DX9.0c, NVIDIA drivers (for the 6200TC), Hauppauge WinTV (for the HVR-1300), TerraTec HomeCinema (for the Cinergy 1200 DVB-C).

I first made sure that WinTV and HomeCinema were able to find and display channels.

Then i installed GBPVR 1.0.16 + no-signal-patch, added the Cinergy as a capture source, created a modded .ini-file to make GBPVR search for QAM256 channels and ran the search. GBPVR found loads of channels, i could also see the picture in the preview window and heard the sound playing during the search.
I saved the config, started PVRX2 and tried to watch LiveTV.
The first strange thing was that the first time i clicked "LiveTV" i was presented with a fresh main menu instead of some TV. Clicking "LiveTV" again led me to the LiveTV screen, showing the channel OSD on the border as usual, but no picture and sound. After a few seconds the "No signal ..." box popped up and showed me a Signal strength of 0% but a signal quality of 100%!

This was the case with every channel i selected, so i couldn't watch any of them.
I tried GBPVR.exe also, with the same results.

As it was quite late yesterday when i got to this point, i didn't investigate much further yet. I was just wondering if

1. anyone had a similar experience yet and could give me a hint where to look at?
2. Somebody could explain to me technically what "signal strength" and "signal quality" mean in the DVB context? (just curious)

Thanks in advance and best regards,
jeb
