I've got 2 issues with recording OTA HD, first here are my specs:

C2D 1.86GHz (OC'd to 2.33GHz)
2 GB DDR2 SDRAM
HVR-1600

1. I'm able to watch live TV with the ASTC tuner, but I cannot record and I don't know why. Everytime I record it just shows static.

2. When I watch live TV with the ASTC tuner, over time the video and audio become out of sync. My processor only goes up to 15% as far as I've seen but the video seems slowly get out of sync with the audio. What causes this?

try a different audio decoder or renderer...
[usually the problem with sync issues]

using MCE or XP or Vista?

what epg are you using?

this doesn't look good..check direct3d..
Code:

The most useful log files unfortunately are zero bytes long in your zip. Try deleting the log files, then reproduce the problem and repost the logs.

Unfortunately that log is still zero bytes long. Try deleting the logs again, and enable log flushing in the config app, then reproduce the problem and repost the logs.

The logs are there now.

Did this attempted recording result in the D:\Videos\GBPVR\Manual Recordings\test1_20070908014000.mpg file being created?

One thing I did notice is this recording was using the analog side of your HVR-1600, not the digital side mentioned in your post above. Was this intentional?

That file was created but its just static. I didn't set it to analog, I already have my standard cable in the analog spot.

When you schedule a recording, it'll work its way down the capture source list looking for an available capture source with the requested channel. When you watch live it does the opposite, working its way up from the bottom of the capture source list for an available capture source with the required channel.

Using these rules, when you scheduled this recording, it would have found the analog capture source first, with this channel available and the capture source not already in use for some other task.

What should I do to fix this? If I move the ASTC capture source to the top, wouldn't I have the same issue with analog that I'm having now?
