I saved my old MDB database and upgraded to V1.016. Then copied old MDB data into gbpvr directory replaceing the one that came with upgrade.

None of my old recordings or scheduled recordings show on the new menus

I run changedatabase and still no information from the old system.

What am I missing?

How big is your gbpvr.db3 ?? (might indicate if the convert has worked ok).

MDB data base is 60,680kb

db3 data base is 7,495 kb

should they be closer to 1:1 ?

Is there some trick to running the convert ?

Argh!! Dont do that. v1.0.16 is only compatible with a 1.0.16 database. You've now replaced that database with an old one, which means its now missing things in that database that the application expects.

When you're upgrading from an old release, you just install the new version over the old version, and it'll automatically retain your data when it does this, including updating the database to the new 1.0.16 format.

(try uninstalling, deleting GB-PVR directory, then reinstalling your old version, then restoring the old database, then upgrading again)

Thanks

Okay I deleted the newly installed 1.016. Recreated a new gbpvr directory from my backup with no 1.016 files in it.

Installed my old mdb file in this v9 system and all the recordings showed fine.

Then reinstalled teh v.1016. Added the backemdcommon.dll again. then tried to sign on to schedules direct and goes through the contactin zap2it, downloading, parsing, then saving then comes up with a large error message saying

Your EPG source does not appear to be configured correftly. SYstem.Data.OleDb.OleDBexception: you cannot add or change a record because a related record is required in table 'Capture_source'

I also tried to start the Gbpvr and see if the recordings were there. The Gbpvr menus come up but when I click on Recordings it shows Error: Priority

Also when I exit the config program and restart it the EPG source I created is gone and I have to Add it again.

THoughts?

To be honest, I'm not really sure. I havnt tested with the old MDB database in well over a year now. Maybe try running the ChangeDatabase utility to switch to SQLite.

When you install the new verison 1.16 on top of the old version having and MDB file does it back up the MDB file anywhere first?

Otherwise the point may be moot, due to operator error I think it blew away my only copy of MDB unless it can be reconstructed from what the install did.

Check your gbpvr dir for any oldgbpvr.mdb or anything like that, you could be lucky. And backup the dumprecordings.xml file (if there) you might be able to import your recordings again from it.
