Hi, I've been using GBpvr for some time now and have enjoyed
the free TV Guide from Zap-To-It. I just recently found out
why my TV guide wasn't working any longer so I am looking
for another (FREE) solution. I looked at

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manual/EPG#toc17

But I really don't understand what all that means.
I have read somewhere that Yahoo stopped letting
you do this for free and doesn't work any longer.

Could someone explain what to do. Maybe a Step
by Step Sticky. I'm sure there are a lot of novices
using GBPVR and need the help that I do.

Thanks
Orbital

My configuration:
GB-PVR: Version 1.0.8
CPU: AMD Athlon 2800+ Barton
RAM: 1 Gig Kingston (DDR)
Video Card: Geforce FX 5200 (128 DDR)
TV Tuner: SAPPHIRE Theater 550 PRO
HD: Two Maxtor 80 Gig (7200 RPM)

I was one of the last ones to accept that there really is no RELIABLE free EPG data any more. Schedules Direct is now $20 a year (and could become even less if enough people sign up). That is really the best option.

Yep, what he said.

The EPG page on the wiki was an attempt to describe the EPG situation. The only reliable option, and easiest to use, is the paid schedules direct option. The full details about using Schedules Direct with GB-PVR is here: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manua...ulesDirect

People have tried to come up with free grabbers, but its a contuously moving target. A prime example is the yahoo grabber, which has already broken. Save yourself the hassle, and pay the $20 for a year's worth of listings.
