Watching a show that is recording problem

I don't know if this was a fluke thing or what, but we had set a show to record - and then wanted to watch it from the beginning while it was still recording.
However, when I switch to that show (via TV Guide, or LiveTV), it didn't seem to recognize that it was recording and started playing the show at the current time.

The one odd thing was that in the TVGuide it did not have the show highlighted as if it were set to record. Under status, it was recording. And once it was all done, we could watch it just fine.

We've been able to do this ok in the past, so I think it's just a fluke.. but I don't know what might cause it.

Was it recording with one tuner and you were watching it with another?
I just saw you had a 150 and a 550Pro.

Do you have dual tuners? If so I think it can record off one tuner and you can watch live TV on the other.
I normally watch a recoding in progress by selecting it via the 'pending' menu.

Yeah, it seems like that is what is was doing.

How do I get to the "pending" menu to select it?

go to recordings screen and hit the 'pending' button...it should be there and have a play button...
