I've just installed v1.0.16 on a computer that has a Hauppage PVR350 PCI card. The gbpvr.exe launches/runs fine for the userid that did the installation (an administrator account.) However, a second, non-administrator userid cannot launch gbpvr.exe (they receive message "No available PVR350 was detected in system". I can still use Hauppage's WinTV2000 software from the same non-administrator userid without any problems. I have attached the GBPVR.exe.log and GBPVR.exe-native.log files associated with the failing launch. The GBPVR.exe.log contains an error: "System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object." which may be pointing to the error. Here are the details of my computer:

Windows XP Professional w/SP2
RAM: 2GB
TV card: Hauppage PVR350

I've seen other posts with this same error, but none with a resolution. As WinTV2000 continues to work, this doesn't seems to be a hardware problem.

Sorry, but I havnt supported the PVR350 TV out for a very long time (over two years now). You could try the following, but if it doesnt work then you're out of luck.

You could try running the ReRegisterFilters.bat file.

To all whom this may help:

1.) The 'ReRegisterFilters.bat' run did not correct the problem.
2.) If I simply launch gbpvr.exe via 'Run As' naming an Administrator account, then GBPVR runs just fine.

This appears to be related to an authority/permissions issue in my case anyway.

I don't think this has anything to do with the type of TV card you're using; it sounds like the Hauppauge drivers aren't able to reconfigure for the new user profile because of limited permissions.

Try adding the ID to the Administrators group, running GBPVR Config to have it set up the source (or re-save it) under the current user profile, run gbpvr.exe, then remove the ID from the Administrators group. See if that resolves your issue.
