Recently, I've noticed that when I select "Whats New" on the Recordings screen, it just goes back to the main menu. Here is what I take to be the relevant bit from the logs:

Code:

Do I have some sort of database corruption? If so, is there a way to fix it (as opposed to wiping and starting over)?

I suspect somehow its ended up with recording in the database that doesnt have a valid filename. It seems to fairly when it tries to find the thumbnail image that goes with a recording.

Can you hit the 'export recordings' buttons in the config app, then zip and attach the recordings-dump.xml file?

recording-dump.xml zipped and attached.

You may want to zero in on "Ghost Hunters". I suspect it may be at the crux of this problem. Not too long ago, it had some "ghost" recordings. Two of the episodes it recorded sort-of showed up twice in my recordings lists. It appeared as though my list had gaps (no recording listings, just showed through to background) in it until I selected that gap, then it showed up as a duplicate of one of the other episodes. I'd attach a picture to compensate for my lacking description, but it isn't happening anymore.

Oh, and I didn't mention it before, but I'm using 1.0.16 with the default skin. The only significant stray from defaults is <AutoRemoveMissingRecordings>false</AutoRemoveMissingRecordings> (in light of your initial diagnosis, this seems pretty relevant).

Thanks in advance.

It seems to be this recording causing your problems:

Code:
<recording>
    <filename>Monk</filename>
    <channel>28 USA</channel>
    <status>READY</status>
    <startTime>2007-10-05 20:00:00</startTime>
    <endTime>2007-10-05 21:00:00</endTime>
    <title>Monk</title>
    <subtitle>Mr. Monk and His Biggest Fan</subtitle>
    <description>Adrian's biggest fan is accused of a bizarre crime.</description>
    <uid>EP005116510081</uid>
  </recording>
The filename should be set to a valid filename, not "monk".

You could use something like SQLiteSpy to edit the gbpvr.db3 database to remove this entry from the RECORDING_SCHEDULE table, or to edit the filename to point it to the real filename.

Hmmm, I canceled that recording... There is no file to point it to.

For some reason sqlitespy wouldn't set me delete anything, just edit. And, gb-pvr choked when I pointed that recording to a junk file I wanted to delete anyway. But, I copied another recording and pointed it to that, went into pvrx2 and told it to delete. Voila, it's gone, and "Whats New" works again.

Thanks for you help.
