Using default TV Guide and a keyboard to navigate the epg listings.
After scrolling through a few pages of listings, the screen jumps back to the Main Menu without warning.

Tried redownloading (empty & reload, force reload, delete & reload) my epg xml file, to no avail. tried loading 3rd party listing view.. same behavior.

This makes it difficult to see the listings beyond a few hours or days ahead.

any idea what's going on?

thanks.

GBPVR 1.4.7
EPG - mc2xml
TV card - HDHomerun dual tuner
OS - win 7 x64

Can you reproduce and post the pvrx2.exe.log?

I cant see any sign of errors in that log. Infact, it looks like you pressed the 'home' key while you were in the TV Guide, and it took you back to the main menu.

that's the strange thing. whether I press the right arrow or up or down arrows. after awhile, it seems to trigger a "home key" effect. I never actually pressed the home key.

Maybe you've got a wireless keyboard or mouse generating bogus signals every so often? We've see that before.

I do have a wireless keyboard. I didn't have this problem until I had to reinstall gbpvr (due to upgrading my tv card from HDhomerun single to dual tuners). before reinstalling gbpvr (3 days ago), I didn't have this scrolling problem.

If it were the case that my keyboard is generating false home key events, can I manually reset the keymapping for the "home" key event to another physical key? would this prove that it was the keyboard and not some configuration issue?

Also, anyway for me to navigate the listings with a mouse rather than the keyboard. with a mouse, I can't scroll to the listings in other time blocks.

thx.

after playing with this more... I realize that no matter which screen i'm in in gbpvr, if i tap any series of keys, within maybe 5-15 key presses a "home" key event is triggered. and since the "home" key is not mapped on most screens in gbpvr, it seems to revert back to the main menu.

the proof is when I put the line <command name="GUIDE_PAGE_FORWARD" key="Home" /> into the TV Guide keymapping file.. it no longer reverts to the Main menu when I'm navigating in the tv guide, but increments the guide to the next page.

if this is still a case of the wireless keyboard generating garbage characters, let me know. I ran the "showkey.exe" program and fed it a series of keypresses.. it doesn't seem to show my keyboard generating
a phantom "home" key event.

thx

I'm pretty sure that will be the case.

If you've got a wired keyboard you can temporarily plugin, try that (with the wireless receiver unplugged) to see if the problem goes away.
