Full Screen Exclusive

I have noticed that something appears to flash up on the screen after exit is selected on the menu. It flashes too fast for me to see what it is. I noticed something similar in the previous version. Is there something about the exit routine that causes something to be displayed? It may be that this is the source of the problem.

I noticed the same thing and have also been suffering from the intermittent screen refresh problem with -fse. In my case, it occurs on a W2K (SP4+) system.

Since I typically remote connect to my PC using VNC, I have some more time to see what the last screen is. When I exit PVRX2 I very briefly get the Music screen; after that PVRX2 exits (most of the times normally, sometimes without the refresh). I think the Music screen is there every time. Come to think of it, I think it also happens without the fse option, but I can't verify this at the moment as I'm switching over to XP right now (got too tired of the W2K limitations; a hard disk anomaly helped make this decision ).

how would i tie the exit button in the menu to "run show desk top"
so when i exit it runs (meaning my desktop gets refreshed automatic)

i have answered my own question
here it is
create short cut to show desktop (i put it on my desktop cause im lazy)
if you use HIP
you can add under advanced options
run external file select after application
select your shortcut to show desktop(under file types change to anyfile when selecting or it wont show up)

and thats it
its been annoying me for ages

If you're using HIP, you could probably also map a remote button to the <windows-key>-D key combination.

yeah well i just did more testing it doesnt work as i thought it did
but i will try what you said only thing is that would be another button push i want it on exit ill think a bit more im sure hip will do it just a matter of thinking about how

what i did work out mine doesnt do it as long as i go back to tv guide after playing mpeg then exit

A bat file to start pvrx2 called startpvrx2.bat

pvrx2.exe -fse
start c:\wherever\clear.scf

clear.scf (does same as show desktop shortcut)

(do notepad, paste this in and save as clear.scf. don't create any enpty scf file first. it seems you can't edit them (easily) afterwards.

I finally realised what is happening here. When I close GBPVR using Alt-F4, it seems to react on F4 alone first and go to the music screen first. Then it immediately exits.
