Perhaps you saw my recent thread wherein I complained that schedules direct didn't work.

It finally did! GBPVR works again, except, for the first time ever it doesn't want to give me any sound or video when watching tv.

I've used older versions of GBPVR, I've used this version of GBPVR with zap2it and then later yapi2xml (when it still worked). I recently uninstalled and nuked the directory, reinstalled, and then started using schedules direct.

I have no idea what to do, it's worked in the past and this is a clean install. Any ideas?

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

What capture device are you using?

Do you have an MPEG2 decoder installed?

It's not like an error that I can reproduce. It's that there is no sound or video when I try and watch live TV. Where can I find these logs to zip?

I'm using Hauppauge PVR 150

Not that I know of. But it worked in the past with whatever I had.

???Your description makes it sound like an error you can reproduce. You say that there is no audio or video when you try to watch live tv, so all you need to do to reproduce the problem is click the 'live tv' button on the GB-PVR menu, then zip and attach the logs.

c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\logs.

What video decoders do you have listed on the playback tab in the config app. If its only got 'system default' listed, then its unlikely you've got a decoder installed, which will mean no video.

The video decoder is set to system default, I have these options (it's set to system default):
Cyberlink Video/SP decoder
Nero Video decoder
ffdshow-mpeg4 video decoder

Which should I use?

Likewise I have these options for audio decoder:
Mpeg audio decoder
Cyberlink audio decoder
Nero digital audio decoder
ffdshow audio decoder

should I worry about audio renderer?

All of these are set to system default

And... in trying to replicate the issue I was having before it actually works now. I don't understand it. I don't get it. I'm just happy that it works.

Now I need to make sure not to look at it the wrong way or else it will break.

There is however a second or two of black after I select a channel. Is that timeshift mode doing timeshift mode things?

For people having problems with audio/video, it's usually decoder related so the first suggestion is to make sure you dont leave these decoder setting set to 'system default'.

Which decoders should you use? Its actually not a simple question to answer, as nearly all the decoders you have listed there have cause some people problems. I'd probably stay away from the Nero ones, since these are often a source of problems. Other than that, just try the different combinations to find what works best for you.

This is usually fine left on 'system default'

It does take a couple of seconds to start up live tv. After that it should only take about a have second or so to change channels (unless you've unticked the 'use live preview mode' setting, then it'll take longer).
