Well it seems that the cable company made some changes to the channel layout on the digital side of things. first off i had everything set up perfect and until Monday everything was playing just great. the this week some channels disappeared and where moved to channel tunning requests that where already setup. so i figured i would run a scan again on the qam tunning. well that is where things get weird. the report window where it lists all the channel that where found show the normal amount channel that it always finds but most of these are more then likely encrypted channels which only show a black preview channel. but the weird part is that mixed into these channel are channels that are listed as such:
0 (000(ac3))
0 (000(ac3)) #2
0 (000(ac3)) #3
0 (000(ac3)) #4

there are several channels listed as 0 (000(ac3)) and they all seem to be the same channel

the weird part is that 0 (000(ac3)) is listed where the old the channel used to be such as
113.3 unknown3 (000(ac3))
0 (000(ac3))
0 (000(ac3)) #2
0 (000(ac3)) #3
0 (000(ac3)) #4
113.4 Unknown4 (000(ac3))

is the area where all my pbs stations use to be
but 0 (000(ac3)) brings up the channel in every place on this list

another weird thing is that scan seems change from day to day.

well not sure what to make of it but sure could use some help.

106.4 unknown4 (000(AC3))
0 (000(AC3))
106.5 Unknown5 (000(AC3))

Were 0 (000(AC3)) gives a acutall tunning request of

I'm not sure what your question is etither.

#2, #3, #4 etc usually means that the channel has multiple audio tracks. The same video stream is shown but you can select the english, spanish, etc. audio.

when the channels found during scan "window" reports the channel as named 0 (000(AC3)) It Gets the tunning request mixed up with every other channel that is marked with that name. and breaks the crosslink with the drop down box for linking it to the epg name.....

it also makes previewing the channel to make sure that a channel is actually there impossible since the tunning request is not properly linked to unique channel name more. i had to look at the SCAN-4.cache file and compare it with a scan from before the cable company made changes. as to why scanning the channel would create 0 (000(AC3)) over and over again i leave that up to you all.

That means your cable company is sending the wrong or bad information in the PAT. You will need to manually edit the tuning strings for those channels. This can be done in the Recording Source window (after you click OK in the window that you have in the screenshot).

Example tuning string:
Quote:T:113,113,5~P:12~V:73~A:74~PMT:1

The items in red are required. The items in blue need to exist but they do not need to be accurate.

The "T:" parameter is in the format of "T:[Physical Channel],[Major Channel],[Minor Channel]". So channel 83 program 2 would be "T:83,83,2"

"V:" is the Video PID. You may need TS Reader to find this.
"A:" is the Audio PID. You may need TS Reader to find this.

It is possible that your logs may show the correct values from the scan. After running a scan, post your Config*.log files and a list of the problem channels/programs (ie: 83.2).

Thanks for all the great work. This program looks great, I am just starting/learning.

Aver M780, Comcast cable, no antena (mountains). Just basic basic (normal local channels).

With Avermedia, I can see all of the local channels in at least SD, most in HD. However, I see tha same thing as this poster when I scan the channels in GBPVR. Several local channels pick up the channel name and information, but most (mostly the SD channels) only give the following:

0 [000]
0 [000[AC3]] #6

etc. These are the ones that work (in preview). Each numer is a different channel, not just different audio. Unfortunately, the names then later repeat, but for new channels. Then, from the preview pane on the right, only one instance of any name moves to the left screen of available channels, so a number are lost.

Of course, as noted by the other poster, I could look up the tuning parameters in the log files. However, since several in the preview have the same name, it is difficult to see what is what to put into the left pane.

Also, at first no QAM would work. I copied the QAM.ini from the HVR1600 directory up one to the ATSC directory, and it started working. I also notice that the Aver drivers do not seem to start for gbpvr. If I run Avermediacenter first, then drivers load. AverQuick is running on startup. Any way to force start of the drivers? In system info, it shows the three drivers as "manual" start,. I know how to make services go automatic, but not drivers.

Anyway, a lot in one posting. If you want any log files or other, I can pm or post, just let me know what files.

Thanks
Chuck
