Hello,
I'm having a couple small (but frustrating) issues with my gbpvr. Every half hour, I lose picture and sound for about 1.5 seconds. It happens at the top and bottom of every hour. I am assuming that it is related to the tuner card restarting the recording file or something. This started with 1.0.8 and has continued to 1.0.16. I did a clean install of 1.0.8 and 1.0.16

My computer is no slouch, its a P4 2ghz with 512 Mb RAM. There is nothing else running (except Mcafee). Any help with this issue would be appreciated, thank you!

This is normal if you're using timeshift mode. It stops the current file, then starts playing the new file.

If you have live preview enabled then you wont see this.

Please forgive my ignorance, but what's the difference and what are the ramifications of enabling live preview mode?

Live preview mode does not cache to hard drive which means that you cannot rewind from the point at which you are currently viewing. If you hit pause, GB-PVR will exit live preview mode and start caching from that point onward in the show. It will return to live preview mode when you switch channels.

Thank you for the explanation.

Is there anyway to speed up the change over between files? I guess I'm looking for the best of both worlds...

No, not really. It already tries to do it as fast as it can.
