Using v1.0.16 on xp pro sp2, no plugins installed.
when machine goes in to hibernate/stdby mode it will not wake up for scheduled recordings.
I installed the 2 patches from the survival guide (if installing means dropping them at the gbpvr folder) Do I need to unzip them first, or just drag the zipped file? For the first patch, i tried both ways. The second patch i could only drag the zipped file because the system wouldn't allow me to replace the original one (even when gbpvr was turned off)

The "wake machine" box under the epg section at config is checked

The machine wakes up fine for windows scheduled tasks

You need to stop the GB-PVR software (front end, recording serivce & tray app), then extract the files from zip into the gbpvr directory, replacing the existing files of the same name.

  • Front End. Shut down PVRX2 (or GBPVR)
  • Recording Service. Start-Program-GBPVR-Stop Recording Service
  • Tray App. Right Click, then close (or exit)
Did this from memory the exact titles may be slightly different.

Thanks, I did all that successfully.
The machine wakes up now only for some of the records. At first I thought it didn't wake up only for manual recordings, but later on it stopped waking up for recordings from the guide as well

Me too :-(
I am running XP SP2 also.

Two problemos I have now with the new PVRX2 which may be related:
1: PVRX2 using 99% CPU when PC is hibernated from within system menu of PVRX2, and subsequently wakes to record - causing recording to fail. Sub said this could be fixed in next release.
2: So I started exiting PVRX2, after scheduling a recording, and going into hibernate from the desktop. But now the PC does not wake to record, usually.

Recurring errors in my logs are:

2007-10-30 19:50:03.421 ERROR [5] Unabled to save ScheduledRecording: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look at that 'Object reference' error.

Ok attached.

By the way I think PVRX2 is starting to do things by itself - maybe it should be called Skynet..
Noticed the following 'asking windows to be awake' lines in the logs:

But I only have one scheduled recording, 4/11/2007 22.30-23.30 - which is the last entry...

From expermentation so far, it seems the PC will wake to record a manual recording, but not a recording that has been scheduled from the EPG...

I'm sure there must be recordings in the database for these other times. If you want to zip and attach your database, I'm happy to take a look for you.
