Engnz,

I don't know what the fps and the bitrate are but it only does this on the dual core PC. I think it might be because that is the PC I have the QAM card in. As I said, the OTA card doesn't have this problem and it is in the same PC. Is yours a QAM card? I am thinking it is something to do with the HVR-1600 QAM drivers.

The single core with the HVR-1600 OTA doesn't do it either.

This started when I installed 1.0.16 (99.12 couldn't use the QAM card, I went directly from 99.12 to 1.0.16).

Bigbus01,

No. I'm using HVR3000 receiving Freeview DVB-S. I believe our broadcasts are PSK not QAM.

My problems started when I upgraded my AMD single-core to dual-core. No other hardware changes.

Maybe the problem is with recording digital streams. Are your OTA recordings analogue using the 1600 internal hardware encoder to encode to MPEG?

The OTA recording's he is referring to are OTA ATSC digital (high def or standard).

hi bigbus01.

I think I've fixed my problem. I've installed the latest Nvidia motherboard and video drivers but it didn't occur to me that I may need to upgrade CPU drivers.

Anyway I installed the latest dual-core driver (released last month) and optimizer from the AMD website below and done 3 recordings so far which looks fine (even for SRT and comskip). Suggest you try the same on your dual-core and see if it fixes your problem.

The updates fixed my timing issues but messed up recordings using this card. I now am getting major video stutters, the audio is fine the video freezes and has mosaics on it. My ATI card seems to work fine, the HVR-1600 is screwed up now.

Try uninstalling the drivers to confirm that its the cause of the stuttering problem.

Have you tried playing back the recordings using VLC? I get stuttering when playing back recordings in mpg format using my PVR150 but they look fine outside of GBPVR when I playback using VLC.

My files are dvr-ms (ATSC HD-TV). Files that I recorded previously look fine. I just removed my QAM setup and switched it to Over The Air (OTA) and both cards (ATI and WinTV are having trouble with some recordings. I'll try removing the installs.
