Net Radio crashing PVRX2 but not GBPVR

And now it is a different problem because the application won't even run at all.

My config file breaks a fresh install the same way. I have never edited it by hand.

Doing a diff I see a couple things that shouldn't matter but here we go anyway:

Typo (not by me) in a command option here: <UseTeletextSubtitlesInLivePreview>fakse</UseTeletextSubtitlesInLivePreview>

A couple tag closers with a space inside and no starter to go with them, such as: <DefaultStartupOptions /> and <Language />

Uburadio and moviewiz plugin settings, though I think at least one of them have been uninstalled.


Maybe the config would be interesting, it is attached.

This is a typo of mine, but it wont cause any problems, so not worth worrying about.

I suspect this is something to do with it...

Confirmed!! When the gbpvr server is off, the gbpvr client crashes on load, hanging in the background in the ways I described earlier.

The workaround is to turn the server on and then turn the client on, then the server can be turned off without any apparent problems. Or edit the config to turn client mode off, start it up, and turn client mode back on.

This bug is a problem for me because it totally kills the gbpvr machine it affects (pvrx2 sliently uses 100% cpu time in the background), and it shows up a lot in an environment with two asynchronously operated machines.

Sorry, but you need to have the server running to be able to start the client.

Shouldn't it fall back more gracefully though? The client works fine when the server disappears while running.

Its been this way since the client feature was introduced about a year or so ago. It would be nice if it handled it better, but I wont be able to change that behaviour now. Maybe for the next release though.
