Quote:So the USB-UIRT seems to be causing the problem some how. Logs are attached. Any idea how to fix it?
Unfortunately there really is nothing that happens between starting a recording and stopping a recording, and nothing shown in the logs. I cant think of any reason why having a USB-UIRT present would cause this. There are also dozens of others with USB-UIRTs here, and I've never seen any reports of it before.

Any other ideas? Anything at all? I've tried disabling every service I could, killed every process I could, and only left GBPVR running and it still did the same thing. I've applied every patch in the survival guide. I posted at the USB-UIRT forums but no reply. I have nothing else I can think to try, except buy a RedRat, or switch to something other than GBPVR.

It might be worth checking if there is a USB-UIRT utility that can be run from the command line to do the blasting, then you'd be able to try changing you capture source to use the ".exe channel changer". This would take it outside the GB-PVR process, and should remove any possibility of it interfering with the recording.

(unfortunately I dont have a working development machine for the next few days, or I'd offer to know a command line version up for you if you cant find one)

I just had a quick check and can see mention of a command line utility (on the usb-uirt forums) called uutx.exe.

Great tip, thank you!

It *was* working with uutx.exe, but mysteriously stopped for reasons I don't know. The .exe changer worked once, then the next time I tried it didn't even though when I ran it from a command prompt it worked. I've deleted the capture source all together and set it up from scratch again, same thing. Rebooted, same thing. I'm going to reinstall GBPVR, but I need to get to bed. I'm going away for the holiday, so I'll update when I get back.

Thanks!

This is so frustrating! I had it working once, but not since. I've tried quotes in the parameters, and with no quotes. The USB-UIRT channel changer still works, I see it change the channel. The command line .exe for USB-UIRT still works and I see it change the channel, but I can't get the command line .exe to work inside of GBPVR anymore. It doesn't change the channel.

Any ideas? Logs are attached.

Thanks!

It looks like it is successfully running it in GB-PVR's logs

Quote:C:\UIRT\uutx.exe -f"C:\UIRT\CableVisionRemote.txt" 007
Is that correct command line?

Yes, that is the correct command line. If I copy and paste that into a command prompt, it works. I tried it with and without the quotes. There is definitely supposed to be no space between the -f and the path to the text file. I'm not sure what could be going on?

I'm pretty sure GB-PVR is doing its thing correctly there, but for some reason uutx isnt playing its part. Is there any parameters you can add to force uutx to produce a log file?

If not, you could probably the command in a batch file, and call it by setting the executable to "c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe" and the args to "/C C:\UIRT\your.bat". That way you could add your own logging to the batch file to let us know for sure that GB-PVR is correctly calling the channel changer (I'm sure it is).

I see what this particular problem is now. uutx.exe accepts one digit at a time for its argument. I configured digits 0-9 and "enter". But GBPVR passes "29" instead of a "2" and then a "9". I have over 300 channels, so instead of configuring each one, I'll write a VBS script to break apart the numbers GBPVR passes, then send each digit to uutx individually. Is this the best solution, or am I over-thinking it? :-)

Would HIP, Girder, or EventGhost work better with GBPVR than this uutx utility?

Thanks!
