i got it working pretty much, wasn't that hard at all. I personally prefer the implementation done by MediaPortal, but the rest of it is cumbersome compared to GB-PVR

Going back to my original question - do any of you find that there is a long delay before TV starts on the client. I guess this is buffering but how long is it for you and it it too annoying.
On my system it was about, I guess 15 seconds which is a lifetime if your expecting to see something.

Yes I have a long delay on the client. Never really counted the time but maybe around 10 sec. It doesn't really bug me because I just assumed it was normal. If the server is in timeshift it takes a few seconds to start tv and when it comes to the client it then has to stream to it.

Last night I played with the client and watching HD using the ATI mux on various channels and have a few questions. I noticed on some channels that I would get stuttering sometimes and other not. FoxHD(720p) seemed to work good but sometimes DiscoveryHD(1080) would would have the audio cutting in and out. I tried recording parts of the shows and playing back with the same problem. These always play fine on the server using the ATI mux so I do not think that is the problem. I tried different combinations of video/audio decoders and never really could see a difference. In the config.xml there is a setting relating to client cache that was set at 49152 and I up that to I think 60000. After do so play back was smooth on the client. I do not know for sure if that made the difference because I had also restarted the both the server and the client. I have more testing to do to see if it was changing the cache or just restarting the computers. Sub, does it make a difference what the cache size is? Is there some formula as to what the number should be because 49152 did not sound random to me?

You can try playing around with that number a bit. We dont have high def here yet, so I've never tested with high bitrate 720p/1080i broadcasts. This buffer size may need increasing. (Too big can be a problem too, so try a few numbers rather than just setting it to a big number straight away...)
