Sorry didn't see that in you first post. Blind!

However I'm having probs with the logic of this! How come the some of the songs play that are ripped from the same cd play and some don't?

Shall I send you 2 files from the ripped same cd, one that plays and one that doesn't?

Tried the parser and updated direct show filter. No go.

Thanks

Cedric

I dont know - but I can tell you that you're not producing .mp3 files that are consistently playable in other applications.

Ok. I'd suggest you start using some other software for ripping your CDs to MP3s. The current tool seems to be creating this problem for you.

Ok. I'll look into re ripping. Better save my energy for next week when I get my Sat card and Phoenix card reader. Mutidec and all that, should be interesting!

Update, Got WMP 11 working yesterday and all the files that would not play, now play fine in PVRX2!

Now what is a good tool to scan ones pc for codecs. You see I have 10 seasons (divx) of a TV series, the fist 2 seasons play fine, then seson 3 will either play but poor sound or sound and no picture. (all play fine in VLC) On another pc all files play fine in WMP11 and in PVRX2. I want to find the differnces between the 2 pc's so I can find the working combination

I guess Gspot or DSFmgr would do that .
AMD Athlon 64 3000, HDD: 80, 120, 200 GB, Hauppauge 350 + 150, MVP, Asus 6000L Laptop client, Asus X50sl client,
Fritz!box 7140 modem/router, GBPVR 1.3.7.

Thanks, Gspot helped. Got the files to play by un-installing most of the codec/filter and running different files thru Gspot. Installed what was needed and all seem fine.

However, It looks like I have to start again, as I messed things up while playing with MDPlugins/Phoenix card reader. When reverting back to my STB, live TV sound came thru all funny and deep. (women sounded like men!) Thought it was a missing codec. Did the classic mistake of throwing everthing in. In the end it was that I hadn't reset the STB after putting back the subscription card! Duuuuh! Got most of it bak to normal except for converted recordings, these flash on and off while playing. :-(
