Hi,

I used to have lots of problem with GBPVR and schedule changes for reoccurring recordings. The problem was that is the schedule changes, the reoccurring program does not change the start/end times accordingly.

I solved this previously by reducing the number of days epg data to 7 from 14.
However it happened this week, that a change must have occurred during the rolling 7 day period, and I missed the last 15mins of a reoccurring program.

This happened on Wednesday. I noticed the problem on thursday and when i scrolled back in the guide to Wednesday, I could see that the guide had detected the change, but it was obviously trying to display the fact that the reoccurring recording has used the old data. Since the new end time had a small block (15mins) where it was just a blank blue square. Sort of hard to describe and by the time I sent to my desktop PC to login and get a screen dump, I could not scroll back any more (missed by an hour!)

Anyhow.. I guess I will have to wait until it happens again... hard to detect it though in time unless I am checking every recording.

Hope there is enough info to start debugging the issue.

Do you have "Complete EPG Reload" checked in the config app? - IIRC this will replace all of your EPG and reschedule any season recordings

Yes, I always use the "Complete EPG REload" option.

If you use the 'Complete EPG Reload' option, then it should delete any scheduled recordings prior to updating the EPG (see exception below). After updating the EPG, it'll then look for shows that match the show and reschedule them. This logic should handle changes to the schedule.

There is a couple of exceptions to be aware of though. It'll only remove scheduled episodes of season recordings, meaning one-off recordings will not be removed from database and can have the problem you describe. Also, it will not delete the master schedule recording entry, ie the first show used to create a season recording. All subsequent season recording episodes should be removed and recreated though.

It was a season recording and it was not the first (master) one.

I guess the only way is to try to recreate this. I have a program that is set to record every day during the week, I will try to manually change the epg data to see if it modifies the recording schedule.

Just realised that my epg data was not updating correctly as it was blank tonight. Reason probably was that I was calling the Cinema plugin update utility from updateEPG.BAT which appears to be hanging and thus the updateEPG.BAT file hangs too!

I have changed this so now the Cinema plugin updates is started as a seperate job/thread.

Hopefully this was the cause. cheers.
