HDTV Crashes

I am using qam tuning with an HVR-1600. Certain channels cause crashes of GBPVR at random times. Other channels are just fine, could run all day w/o problems.

Are there any techniques either in modifying config or other means that can help alleviate these crashes? It appears that it may have something to do with a tuning issue. Would putting an amplifier on the input from the cable to the qam port on the HVR-1600?

Its hard to guess what the problem would be, but it could be caused by weak signal on those channels. Maybe worth trying other decoders though on the chance its a decoder crashing.
