Using GB-PVR 1.1.5 over Vista with a Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-TD.

Machine is a Dell Latitude D630 with Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz, 2GiB RAM, and in general, all working fine.

Hauppauge WinTV software, in general, works fine and I can watch TV etc, but that software is a bit pants.

So, came across GB-PVR, but appear to be stuck in a loop on trying to set it up.

I believe I have set it all up:
  • Capture Source is: BDA recording plug-in, specifically, a Nova-TD (which was in the list of devices it said was connected)
  • EPG plug-in is: DVB EPG Broadcast
  • Channel changer is: no channel changer required

It has scanned through and found all the channels.

I have been through and ticked all the boxes for the channels which seem to make sense. In that dialog, I can even click on the channels in the list on the right, and they play out audio and video in the little preview at the top right. Great!

But in GBPVR I always get "No channels have been set up...", followed by suggestions as to how to fix it, which is to update EPG.

So I have done "Update EPG" several times, and it always seems to do something for a number of seconds and appear to complete normally. Then I go back into GBPVR, and get the same error message. Repeat until bored Wink

I've tried re-booting to no avail.

PVRX2 looks pretty nice, so I would like to get it working.

I tried searching for the error message in the forums but I always get "Zero sized response" from the web server.

So, posting this message.

(I believe) I have attached a zip of all the log files.

Regards,

Bill

I think so. I ticked the boxes next to the ones I was interested in.

I was a little surprised though because it talked about mapping and all I had was a list with two columns. Column one was the channel name; column two was a tick box.

I couldn't see any way of establishing a mapping. I tried various mouse actions like clicking on the column values, headings, right clicking, but my input seemed to be limited to ticking or un-ticking the tick box.

In "Edit Recording Source", I have a list at the bottom called "Channels" with 3 columns:
  • Channel Name
  • Enabled
  • Tuning Request

This list is populated with 20 or so entries which all seem reasonable, e.g.

Channel Name: BBC ONE
Enabled: Ticked
Tuning Request: BBC ONE (T:C50,706000,0,0,8~NID:0~ONID:0~TSID:4099~P:4...

under the channels tab you have them all selected

if you go update epg in the edit recording service window does it count down for each station
it will take a while i would say maybe you could deselect all but one station for testing that way you might find it shows up
or one of the ststions may be causing the epg to stop loading
(with dvbs its 60 seconds for each station im guessing yours will be the similar)
