Hello,

When I try to play DIVX files recorded from GBPVR I get the following error in PVRX2 and GBPVR.

"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Buffer overrun detected!

Program: c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\PVRX2.exe

A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

This happens on two of my three machines. I can run the DIVX files correctly through Media Player and VLC on all three machines. Any ideas?

Thanks

Graham

Try installing some other divx decoder. Maybe the xvid one.

I'm not sure if this is relevant, but here's my experience. When I play a divx/xvid using the overlay manager and the cyberlink decoder I used to get crashes. They were funny though because I could play them fine, but once I pressed stop, GBPVR would crash. After some hardware changes and other things, I found out that my problem was that I kept my divx/xvid recordings as .mpg files. Once I changed them to .avi files everything went ok again.

In short, I found that the following broke GBPVR playback:
cyberlink decoder/intervideo
divx/xvid files with .mpg extension (legacy problem which Sub fixed quite quickly)
overlay

The solution was to have my divx/xvid files as .avi.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the quick response.

I tried the latest divx codec, that made the GUI crash without even an error. I uninstalled that and tried XVID, now i'm back to the same error as before.

My recordings are all .avi files, and I don't believe I have the cyberlink codec installed.

Any more ideas? is there a way to find out which codec GBPVR is using?

Thanks

Enable last graph in config.xml
install graphedit
open the graph and take a look...note if you want to post the graph please post it as a bmp. A graphedit file will only have meaning on the machine on which it was created.

Hi Jam_zhou,

I found this in the config

<SaveGraphFiles>false</SaveGraphFiles>

I made it true and it creates a .GRF file if i play an MPEG (which works). When I play a DIVX it does not create a file.

Thanks

Download GraphEdit and select 'render media file' from the menu, then select your avi file. This will show you what decoders are being used when you play this type of file.
