PVR-250 No Sound

Hi there,

I'm just, at last, managing to get everything set up on GBPVR after I discovered that it's possible to play 16:9 Divx through it using the ffdshow trick and also how to get the channel codes to stick for Sky.

However, I cannot get any sound from LiveTV either while watching or on the recordings. I have my Sky Digital box connected via Scart to the Hauppauge PVR-250 S-video and Line Input sockets. I have tried it out using the (horrible) WinTV 2000 application and it seems that it is all working (i.e. I'm getting picture and sound in that), but no sound in GBPVR (latest version 0.90.10).

I'm probably doing something really stupid, but having trawled through this forum and the wiki for about 3 hours now, I decided it's probably worth just asking the question

Anyway, really hope someone can help me with this, as I'm champing at the bit to use this software!

Does audio work with the GBPVR Tuning Assistant?

Yup... I've a scart to s-video and stereo rca phono cable that I've connected into the s-video and stereo mini-jack inputs of the PVR-250. The scart end is connected to the VCR output of the Sky Digibox.

As I say, it does work in WinTV 2000, so I'm pretty sure there's not a problem with the hardware connections. It's almost certainly something to do with my GBPVR config.

I'm using External Tuning, as the Sky box is attached via s-video, so there's nothing for the tuning assistant to tune into. It's an AV connection.

No-one got any ideas on this one? It's such a shame, as everything else is working perfectly.

I would so appreciate any suggestions at all of things to try.

If you try svideo2 or try composite, does it improve things at all? It may get worse, but worth trying.

Have tried all the possible sources now from the list and the only one that gives me a colour picture is the original one I chose (i.e. Composite, External Tuner). None of them give me any sound at all.

Are there any errors listed in gbpvrrecordingservice.exe-native.log?

Will check when I get home in a couple of hours. Is there anything in particular I should be looking out for (or will it be obvious)?
