Hmm so close but still so far! I'll see if I can narrow something down but that going to take some time. The amount of combinations is staggering, even though I think the problem is something else. Something old gbpvr.exe isn't doing!
Thanks anyway

All the playback stuff is in NativeUtilities.dll which they both share, so assuming you're using the same video renderer then they should behave exactly the same...

Should but don't! Could it be that they are both playing the same, but something is messing with pvrx2 and not gb?
Anyone else out there with a similar prob?

Update! Think I've got it. I have more testing to do. I updated my ATi driver to the latest and then sound came thru fine, but picture still started skipping at 10-13 secs. Audio still came thru fine. (strange that updating a vid driver made the sound work!) Tried all the vi decoders again but to no avail. Just before giving up. I re-did the the quartz.dll, but used the changer proggy. Also set to -fse and voila, stutter free vid as well. Hope this is it! touch wood.
Tried different vid decoders, but it also seem that only dscaler works and it must be in -fse mode to work. Bit of a pain that it has to be in -fse as one cant see other processes and do settings. Also pain if one gets a lock up. Now way out for fse:-(
