tipstir, you might have klite installed, but it looks like you use the hauppauge codecs anyway. Under mpeg playback you have Intervideo which comes with the hauppauge products. So why download and install k-lite?

I changed the video decoder to InterVideo NonCSS VD . That was the only option besides system default. The picture is still not smooth. But when i use WinTV2000 its smooth.

So the next thing i tried was to update the driver for the pvr150. I followed the steps on Hauppauge site by using the HCWCLEAR etc....
link to update from hauppauge . After i followed the steps i went into Device manager and checked the driver version for my Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II (26xxx) and the driver says 2.0.18.22280
Is this the latest version? from the Hauppauge site it says its 2.2, but i dont know if thats the update version number or its the driver version.

Is there anything else i can do to make it play smooth??

thanks

pinkpig, does this only happen when watching LiveTV or does watching recordings also suffer from this?

Hi, I have the same problem as the OP. Audio is constant on live TV but video freezes every 4 or 5 seconds. I have not tried to make a recording yet. I'm using the "default" codecs in the config menu. Is this a HDD issue (fragmentaion)? I had no problem with WinTV or Beyond TV having jerky picture, thus, I'm thinking it's not hardware.

Specs should show up in my sig.

Thanks!

Ok it ended up to be the video card. My friend had a geforce4 Ti4600 for me to try. Once installed video was smooth.

So whats a good cheap video card to buy?? I heard the FX5200 werent that good.

THanks

Same problem here. The old version worked fine viewing Live TV. Using the new version the screen jitters every few seconds. Recordings are fine.

What differences did you find between the two?

I ask because your post back in Dec re: cards was that the 5200 was really pulling the train. I have the 5200, and have a few issues w/ picture reproduction (eg, I try turning up sharp, but get dancing lines on slats, pinstripes, etc) I'm not sure what to pin on.

I have a bid on a 9200 on ebay that I can still choose to be competitve one (only out $32 if leave as is now).
