anyone using birtles.org.uk XMLTVGUI grabber and not having problems?

i've got loads of 'no show details' and get the below error when trying to open the data.xml file in TVG or EPG Viewer...

From what I can tell, my download went OK this morning and my TV Guide looks as I'd expect it.

It could just be a one-of and something got corrupted on your last download.

my downloads seem ok - no 0 byte channels detected etc.

i've purged the dat files (and even removed and re-installed the application) - it creates a 20mb XML..

am missing sky sports, UKTV and many more channel listings - i'd say 50%...

I had the same issue and traced it to some formatting problems in 'Teachers TV' - removing this, or moving it to the bottom of the sort order fixed the issue.

Slightly OT but has anyone got a decent web source for the current list of all the Freeview channels so I know what I should have in the EPG? My standalone set-top freeview box is always asking to be updated with new channels and I never know what's changed to keep GB-PVR in sync.

But you have to keep youe eyes open on your own transmitter for local changes. For me it's this http://www.ukfree.tv/txdetail.php?a=TF218836 there will be one for your area no doubt.

I seem to remember there was an issue with Teachers' TV in the past but I thought it had been sorted out.

If you see something like this, report it to Alan (Birtles) on the XMLTV GUI forum and he'll take a look at the problem. The grabber has had its hiccups from time to time but if you let him know about it then there's normally a pretty quick fix.

Just out of interest (or not as the case may be) I had a similar situation with film4, I think the epg sorted itself out, ie the offending entry went away but it would be nice if the parser could recover.
