:eek:Hi Guys,

Seems I have a lot of issues is a bit misleading  After writing the body of the email and posting I realised I really only have 2 issues, with the way the family is complaining you would think the sky has fallen in Big Grin

I believe they were there prior to PVRx2 1.1.5 (cant remember the version released prior but I was on that one)

Issues may or may not be PVR related so if anyone has a clue that may solve one or more of them then I will start correcting them.

1. some recording showing up as "Failed"
2. skip and forward seem to intermittently cause a lockup

This may be related to my post processing batch file which transcodes any recording to AVI, I do run it as low priority but it certainly seems to affect parts of PVRx2 responsiveness. I will start by renaming the postprocessing.bat and see if it helps.

Cheers

Quote:1. some recording showing up as "Failed"
Zip and attach the logs covering the period of one of these recordings, and let me know the show name and times and I'll take a look.

If its marked as failed (rather than 'ready' but being unplayable') then this usually indicates the machine was off or the recording service not running at the time of the recording.

Quote:2. skip and forward seem to intermittently cause a lockup
Reproduce the problem then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Yeah, quite possibly. Its worth going without this for a bit to see if the problems go away.

Hi Sub,

It seems the recording "Failed" has goner away since I mentioned it, thats always the way it goes :-)

But the fwd crashing PVRx2 is still happening log files are attached PVRx2 froze around 00:05 19th December. I looked at the logs and couldnt see anything the logs are set to Debug and flush.

I have stoped my postprocessing.bat from running so that is now free from suspician, could be why no more Failed recordings too :-D

Cheers

Does this ffw problem happen on playback of existing files, or playback of recordings that are still in progress?

It may not be your post processing. I have seen this (lock up on FF) on my PC also with PVRX2. I don't have any special post processing and is using the DVR-MS mux. At the time, it behaved the same way when played outside PVRX2 using WMP. I haven't quite narrowed down the cause yet. Could be the signal getting weak (OTA) during the recording? May be it was not enough disk space where the temp folder is pointing to in the config app (which I have taken care of now). I could rule out the space issue if it happens next.

It happens for playback of existing files, doesnt matter if the PVR created them or if they were added to a video folder.

I have stopped all postprocessing while I try to resolve the issue, it is still occuring.

There is nothing obvious in the logs, but I'd try the normal culprits... ie, put the audio renderer back to system default, or try different audio/video decoders to see if the problem goes away.
