Here's another that has tried the message patch, and had the multiple session problem partly resolved, as the GBPVRTray still launces two sessions, while PVRX2 now only launches a single session.

This from the startup in the start menu.

Sub - could there be a registry problem with the tray as well?

The tray app does nothing more than try running PVRX2.exe, which itself is responsible for checking if it it is the only instance running, so it should be the same regardless of where you run it from.

I'm still unable to reproduce it here, so not sure why this occurs, but you could try the attached patch. It might help.

The patch did not do anything noticable.

Having only the PVRX2 or the tray app in the startup results in only one of the two being launched. As far as I can see, the tray app does not try to launch PVRX2, or if it tries, it fails.
The PVRX2 ends up with one single session, the tray app with two.

But, as I very seldom use the tray app, I might skip it all together...

Can you post your logs now that you've applied that patch? There is an additional message in there that might give me some clues.

I've got the same problem with my remote control (I use Girder) . If I press the button to lunch PVRX2 when it's running, another session starts and something funny happens. Sometime I loose the control of PC and I have to reboot it.
I looked at the Logs, but no errorors are in there.

Happy christmas
