AVI black bars on top and bottom

Hi, I have a CRT TV 4:3 and when I play an AVI file, the bars on top and bottom are dark purple instead of black. I've played the same file with another player and the bars are always black. I've tried to find the same problem in the forum with no result.
What sould I do?

I seem to remember 2 or 3 posts over the last few years about this same problem. I'm pretty sure it relates to the way your videocard is handling VMR.

Are you using the PVRX2.exe interface, or the old GBPVR.exe?

I'm using 99.12 ver.

You could try googling, it might turn up some clues for why your video card is showing purple in these spaces. It wont GB-PVR specific.

Alternatively, the PVRX2.exe app in later releases should show it correctly.

I'm waiting for the new plugin for my ATI remote control because it's not compatible with ver 1.

You were right Sub. It's a problem with MMC from ATI and it can be fixed with EAZYLOOK in the configuration.
