Remotes

Questions here: I have a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3000 and two TV cards: the PVR-150 regular with standard Happ remote, a MCE PVR-150 with a USB "bean-bag" (grey) {fourth one on the right on the MCE remotes page}.
My regular hauppage remote blaster will NOT work (weak) with my box, can I still use my Happ MCE remote? Do I have to use HIP to get it to work?

Also I have an ATI remote wonder, if all fails can that be used to control my STB? (probably a dumb question here).

I have never used the built in MCE plugin so I can not give any advice on how well it works. I use hip and have not had any problems to speak of. I do not use HIP to change channels on a STB but I do use it in the bedroom to control the power/volume on my TV and GBPVR.
