OK, attached, thanks. I have just started with djkxml again fresh with only a few channels selected to see if that does anything.

sub Wrote:The most significant differents was that the old UI in GBPVR.exe was hardcoded for 720x480, and looked like crap on the ever-increasing number of widescreen and/or large screen (LCDs, Plasmas etc) that

The new UI automatically handles differences between 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratio TVs, and uses the native resolution of the screen for the best possible text rendering.

There is lots of other advantages to the new UI as well.
Ah, I see, that will be good as I would also like to get an LCD screen for the media PC.

sub Wrote:They dont need hardware encoders because the broadcaster encodes it prior to transmission. The application just saves the already-encoded stream it receives straight to disk.

Specialist hardware decoder devices are a thing of the past (Hollywood+, PVR350, XCard etc). These types of devices are out of favour and no longer developed. These days people just use the hardware acceleration features of their video cards.
I see, this will mean I will need a capable video card then?

Yep, channel 11 is in there twice. You'll need to configure djkxml to get rid of one of them.

<display-name>Sky 1</display-name>

Yes, that is exactly what the problem was. I removed a few of the channels that I don't even look at the listings for and now I have the guide, just one (or two) annoyances :p TV3 and Prime are channel 101 and 102 in the guide in GBPVR, I had a look in the tvguide.xml file and they are set to TV3 as channel 03 and Prime as channel 07...

Is there anyway I can stop the OSD coming up to allow me to use the TV out of the WinTV PVR 350?

How can I set the channels in the EPG to display the output of the Sky decoder via antenna? Sky is outputting 607.250Mhz.

Oh and now that I have been thinking about it, I will get an IR Blaster so GBPVR can change channels on the Sky decoder, what are your recommendations?

mce remote from computer shop they are only meant to sell them with other hardware though ($60 you get remote and infra red senders)
while you are there buy a dvb card

you can add the frequency instead of the number in config when you edit the channels
or download sky movies epg data and just edit the channels under "source channel" put in the frequency

No, this is isnt possible. It may not be obvious, but the OSD is used for a lot more than just telling you what channel is being viewed. The OSD is used for all graphics you see on your PVR350, including the menus etc. The black.mpg file is playing in the background when the menu and screens are visible.

You can edit the channel numbers on the channels tab in the config app.

Set you capture source to use the 'fixed channel, external tuner' input, and set the 'constant channel' to 607250000, or enter the channel number this corresponds to.

The black.mpg thing only happens with the PVR350 tv out, since it needs to be playing a file for the OSD to work (and OSD is used to display the menu on the PVR350).

OK, so is it just a MCE remote? I am running Win XP Pro if that makes any difference to MCE. Which DVB-S card would you recommend that is relatively cheap?

I thought so, I was doing that but when I was viewing the live TV all I was getting was a black screen, then I tried again but not using TV Out and I get a signal... so it must be something to do with the TV Out... Oh well, I am happy running the CPU at 100% for a while... (just doesn't leave much for the other uses of the PC)

Ah, I see. That is fine.

Note above.

I see how it works now.

OK, I will have a look in town tomorrow.

I was looking at the HVR3000 a while ago, but I am sure I read somewhere that GBPVR does not support it or something, is this correct?

Any buying of hardware will be done after 7 of Jan as I am off to Australia on Sunday 30th Big Grin and return on Sunday 6th

EDIT, I see it is only the analog part of the tuner is not supported by GBPVR as it is not a hardware encoder, correct?
