Hi Scooby,

I also tried to find answers via the Hauppauge forum. So JUIDUI=JUI

Do you know the Movie "Silent Running"? The little roboters were named Jui, Dui and Lui I believe [Image: smile.gif]

My problem is that I have the latest Hauppauge drivers that support BDA, as I know now, I also have a mpgmux that should fit, but still I can not find any channels via GB-PVR. I do not know much about frequencies and channels, but could it be that the german channels do not correspond to the scanning in GB-PVR?

Before I tried the NOVA-T I had a Hauppauge 350 which was running fine. But for this I had to edit the registry and include channel to frequency mappings for the german frequencies, because GB-PVR could not use the Hauppauge channels. Could this interfere with the channel scanning now?

Greetings

No.

Did you try checking the german ini file in c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\bda\dvb-t has the correct frequencies. For many UK Nova-T users I had to add the offset into the frequency, otherwise a channel scan would fail to find any channels.

I found the correct frequencies by installing the wintv2000 software that came with the card - using that to scan for channels and somwhere in the software you can get the actual frequency of the multiplexes wintv2000 found.

Then edit the appropriate ini file in GB-PVR as sub stated. and away you go. For scanning and live preview you do not need mgpmux.ax installed - this is only required for recording and live preview (timeslip).

Testing wintv2000 will also help isolate issues with reception/hardware and GB-PVR.

Hi,

thank you for your help.

I checked the data in the DVB-T frequency table for Germany. It contains the frequencies used here in Frankfurt, so no problems there. You said you had to add the offset to the frequencies for many users. What does that mean? Could you please explain this.

Greetings and thank you again

For the Sandy Heath Transmitter in the UK the mux for BBC1 etc is published as being on mux 1 transmitted on UHF channel 42.

In theory channel 42 should be transmitting on a frequency of 642000KHz but in reality some of the transmissions are slightly offset to prevent interference with other transmitters.

The actual frequency for Mux1 at Sandy Heath is 641833KHz (166KHz offset) and unless the appropriate .ini file is set correctly GB_PVR/Nova-T will not be able to lock into the mux.

the Wintv2000 software takes a different approch - it seems to scan all UHF channels and to either side of the channels to seek out all muxes - once it has found the channels you can view the actual frequency it used - and use this to edit the .ini file.

I like the GB-PVR approch because the scans are much faster and you don't have complications due to locking in on weak channels from remote transmitters. But GB-PVR does need a accurate .ini file to work from.

Hope this helps, regards, Paul

p.s. I may be wrong on the kHz - it may be MHz.

Hi gbq57,

thank you for your help. I checked in WINTV2000. In the channel manager it shows the frequencies used for the channels. The numbers shown there correspond to the numbers in the .ini file in GB-PVR. So there seems to be no offset to the frequencies.

Any other ideas?

Greetings
Jui
