Flickering line at top of screen

I have seen this happen with both the PVR150 and the current AVermedia M780 that I have. There is always a flickering line at the top of the screen. Does anybody know what causes it and how to get rid of it?

Its probably the VBI lines that hold the close caption infomation. A normal TV would have this off the edge of the screen due to the overscan that normally occurs.

You could try increasing the overscan on your PC connection either in the videocard settings, or by tweaking the <HorizontalZoom> and <VerticalZoom> settings in config.xml.

no thoughts of having a crop option in config? Be nice to be able to define how many lines top, bottom, left and right?

Its not possible to crop these lines at record time. The hardware encoders dont have this functionality.

If you're talking about at playback time, thats sort of what the zoom settings are intended to do. I dont have too much control over some of this stuff, so its implemented as an overscan like you'd get on a TV rather removing part of each frame.
