Yes, but the default sounds sounds only give a quiet click on up/down/left/right/enter so you might not be noticing them.

It seems that setting the following was required, probably my fault for not using the default install path:-)
<SystemSoundsDirectory>C:\Program Files\GBPVR\media\sounds</SystemSoundsDirectory>
