Hey all,

Please help if you can. I am running PVRX2 under windows 2000 SP4. I think that I shouldn't have updated my .net service to the latest (2.0 security update). Now GBPVR and PVRX2 and config.exe all crash when I try to start them up. I would attach a log file, but don't know which one to upload or at least attach to this forum post. Please advise.

Jon

Zip and attach attach a complete set of logs and I'll take a look. Read the sticky 'posting support questions' thread for a brief overview of doing attachments.

Sorry, but can you enable log flushing in the config app then reproduce the problem and repost the logs?

Does the error happen immediately on starting the app, or do you have to do something first?

What does the error message say?

The error happens immediatly after trying to start GBPVR, PVRX2 or configure.exe, so I cannot enable log flushing. The error says the following:

"GB-PVR Configuration has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

It says the same thing for GB-PVR, BG-PVR configure and PVRX2...

You can manually enable log flushing by editing the config.xml file and setting: <LoggingForceFlush>true</LoggingForceFlush>

I followed your instructions. Here are the logs after trying to start the configure.exe program...

That config.exe.log is from several weeks ago, so its not even getting that far.

Maybe try reinstalling .net 2.0 and the vcredist_x86

I will try that and see what happens. Do I need to have the .net 2.0 installed to work GBPVR and PVRX2, or can I stay at 1.1?

You absolutely have to have .net 2.0 installed for all version of GB-PVR after and including v0.97.
