GBPVR freezing during playback, sometimes just the application sometimes causing the PC to reboot. It does not do it all the time, but does it playing new files and ones that I have played before perfectly fine. I am using version 1.1.5 but the old interface in overlay mode. The third time it done it in a row I have a full log capture which is a short sequence from restart to crash so if the log contains a clue then it should be in

GBPVR.exe-1.log

from this point....

2008-01-06 20:18:07.000 VERBOSE [1] getValue: /settings/UseMenuResumeButton : true

The only bit that jumps out at me is "Received event code: 32869" as I don't know what it means (but there is very much in the log that I don't understand...).

I did also try it in pvrx2 but that did the same. So watched the rest of the file in media player without a problem.

If anyone can shed any light from this info. I would very much appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Marc

If it causes you PC to reboot or lock hard then it is amost certain some driver bug, or general hardware instability.

Yeah, overclocked CPU or memory or graphics card/chip maybe, you could try underclocking those and see if it helps. I have a 7600GT that for whatever reason hated World of Warcraft and had to be underclocked almost to half for it to not lock up.

Those also would connect to if you have a case overheating problem. If it locks up more after it's been on awhile, that might point to a heat problem. Could be a weak or weakening power supply too, I suppose. That can cause all sorts of weird things.
I bet Michael Bay uses GBPVR because it's awesome:

Thanks for all the comments.

Drivers it seems to have been. Had forgotten that during a restore of the PC from an earlier backup which had been done when the PC had a ATI video card installed, I had ended up using a newer version Nvidia driver for the current Nvidia card . Changed from Forceware 94.24 back to 84.21 and all seems OK again. Why it seemed to only affect some recordings played in GBPVR, I have no idea, probably because it’s a PC…..
