MusicLibrary2 doesn't show when selected

Hi,

I have gbpvr v.1.1.5 and am using Pvrx2. I have installed MusicLibrary2 v. 6.5. So far, I see the MusicLibrary2 folder under Plugins. I have unzipped MusicLibrary2DB.zip and its content is in gbpvr's root folder, so I have MusicLibrary2.mdb under the folder gbpvr.

When I open config and then settings, I get "DatabaseProviderFactory does not match DatabaseConnectionString
Database type (filename), Verify your database settings on the general tab." So when I am in, I select MS Access and select MusicLibrary2.mdb which is in the root folder.

But when i click on MusicLibrary2 in pvrx2, The mainmenu dissappears, but it doesn't go into MusicLibrary2, or nothing that I can see anyways, and when I move my mouse, it goes back into the main menu.

Any help would be appreciated. I have attached a zip of pvrx2.exe log

PS. I don't know programming, so please treat me as a noob with no clue.

I wouldn't recommend the old 6.5 version. Move to the 6.7 beta (it's not really a beta any more).

I looks like it's loading, but it's having issues with the database. Try the 6.7, and if it doesn't work, switch to the sql lite db. Not a lot of work has been done on the msaccess db, and I can't guarantee it working very well.

I copied the MusicLibrary2 folder that I unzipped from the beta.zip and placed it where the old one was before. But when I opened config, I got the same error message that CarolinaGuy had, so I renamed the Db zip that is listed in the wiki from MusicLibrary2.mdb to MusicLibrary.db3 and that error went away.

But the next message that popped up was that I don't have any music paths set up. I deleted C, added D:\mp3, added it as a collection, went to Library update and then clicked on Scan Now. Everything seemed to have gone ok. I ok out of everything, start Pvrx2, but when I open it, it says that I have not set a music path. Everytime I set a path, and go out of the config, the path disappears and C:/ comes back under system.

Which means something in your database update is failing. Can you post the pvrx2.exe.log (or the Musiclibrary2.log is you have internal logging turned on).

delete your db3 file (I saw somewhere you renamed the mdb as db3??) then go into the config and set up your paths again - and do a scan inside the config.

It should recreate the db for you. Looks like it might have figured out the the renamed mdb is not a database file (that it likes)

Yes it works. Thanks. I renamed the mdb to db3 because this error was coming up which when I searched for it in the forums, said that I should put a db3 file in the folder. But I just couldn't find a db3 file anywhere for download. The only one I could download was the mdb, so I thought, ok, I rename it and see if that works.

I'm sorry but I didn't understand that I should scan my computer and that the db3 would just be created on its own, even though I tried to follow the instructions on the wiki page.

So I can't have visualisations unless I have MediaMVP (which I don't have)? I try to select visualisations under View, but everytime i go out of the config, it sets itself back to Album Art.

And my skin doesn't look like the screenshots on the wiki. Is it another skin for pvrx2 i'm suppose to have? Attached my screen shot

sorry the wiki is quite out of date. Since the pvrx2 came about visualisations have not been possible, and no they were not possible on the mvp.

The skin shown on the wiki is one that used to be around called blueMCE. You can get the same look by installing the Community3 skin

in PVRX2 I see Music Library2, but when I select it, nothing happens. The menu items dim, like it is going to launch, but then nothing. I can hit esc and it will eventually come back, but not ML2.

in GBPVR it doesn't show up at all, no ML2.

any thoughts?
