Can't playback recorded video via gbpvr

GBPVR was running well for a long time, when one day to another it started to do act up:

It doesn't play back the recorded videos. Sometimes the screen stays totally black, I've to kill the pvrx2 process to get out, sometimes it shows the 1st frame of the movie.

If I try to play the MPG files with Media Player, then it is not a problem.

Sometimes it helps, if I do a repair install, or just open the configuration and adjust some things, but couldn't found the ultimate thing, what makes the trick to get them played again.

I'm puzzled.

I did not install anything, this started after a dinner...

It started on 1.0.16, now I'm on 1.1.5, but the problem is still here...

i had problem with playing mpg's while recording in progress - running the registerfilters.bat sorted it (is in start, programs, gbpvr)

The first thing I'd try is changing the decoders you're using. The most recent logs show you're using the Nero decoder which has causde problems for lots of users in the past.

First: this seems to work, thanks a lot!

Second: I moved to the Nero decoder, because all the other ones produced slight assynchron between the audio/video, sometimes the video jumped a little to catch up.... (The audio was alyways slightly behind).

The Nero was working and there was no delay. The can't play back problem came a little later.

I switched back now to Cadalyst, I can play back everything, but watching it for a while the audio is behind again. Not too much, but in a classic fistfight one can feel... Stopping the video and resuming playback solves it for a while, then comes again. Any idea on that?

No, I dont know. Try a different decoder.

Never thought of that. I have the Nero decoder installed, I'll give it a try :p

I was having this problem tonight and found that when referring to my server in my config I had 'pvr' (the name of my gbpvr host system). While I could find the db and get the menus ok, when trying to watch a recording thru pvrx2, 'pvr' was resolving to a name outside my internal domain. I changed 'pvr' to 'pvr.warren.int' (my internal fqdn) and it's working and MUCH quicker.
