A number of questions in general and for HVR-1600

Does the PureVideo decoder use any GPU-specific features? So far, I wasn't able to watch HD channels without stuttering, but with GBPVR.exe (Overlay, not WMR9) and PureVideo codec, I can see HD channels smoothly. I'm surprised with the result...

Well the only problem is that GBPVR.exe is not supported anymore... I hope the bugs I found so far with GBPVR.exe are something that can be fixed with the dll update.

1. EPG update is not working well (not getting 4 days of update, manual update doesn't retrieve data)
2. Mouse Scroll does not work with Mini Guide (It works with TV Guide though).
3. Pressing Ctrl-Q in Live TV Mode does not actually pause the program.

The other thing you might try is the VMR9 Full Screen Exclusive mode. I'm not 100% sure why but it did help out on the performance for me with the onboard graphics. Also, make sure that you uncheck the hardware acceleration in the video properties of the purevideo decoder settings. You can get to it by the config app.

I'm having the same problem with the HVR-1600. With the delay set for 5 seconds I get a black screen for 5 seconds, the pop up about no signal, then 2 seconds later the channel tunes. The weird thing is if I set the delay to 30 seconds I just get a black screen for 30 seconds then the no signal pop up and then after the pop up is up for 2 seconds the channel tunes. It's like the channel can only tune after showing the pop up message.

What this no signal pop up doing to "Turn on" the tuner. It's definitely showing the QAM HD not analog. I think this is why I can't get QAM to record, GBPVR must not think there is a valid signal and not record anything.

Any ideas??

Try increasing the <NoSignalPopupDelay> setting in config.xml. Add a few seconds to it.

Maybe try setting <BDASubmitTuningRequestTwiceOnLivePreview>true</BDASubmitTuningRequestTwiceOnLivePreview> in config.xml.
