I have built 3 pvr's with 150's in them and they all look reasonably good (little worse than tv) on high quality record setting.

I am not 100% sure what I am using for the decoder (i believe cyberpower). Give us a little more information, is the picture dark? Grainy? etc..

P.S. - You get what you pay for, I picked my PVR150 up for around $50... I don't expect crystal clear playback considering the cost.
