I made sure I had stopped any other recording programs. Card was still not detected when I selected bda, then the checkbox to show only detected cards.

Run the filtercheck.exe utility from the GB-PVR directory, then zip and attach the filtercheck.log and I'll take a look.

You may need the new bda.ini entries found at http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post256653
The filtercheck.log would confirm it if this is the case.

I ran the filtercheck.exe and included the filtercheck.log in my original upload.

As mentioned in whurlston's link above, you need to add the following your bda.ini file:
[VistaView Saber type2] TUNING_TYPE=ATSC FILTER_TUNER=VViXS PureTV ATSC/DVBC Tuner FILTER_CAPTURE=ViXS PureTV Digital TV Receiver PIN_TUNER_IN=Antenna In PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=TS Out [VistaView Saber (QAM) type2] TUNING_TYPE=ATSC TUNING_SPECIAL=3 FILTER_TUNER=ViXS PureTV ATSC/DVBC Tuner FILTER_CAPTURE=ViXS PureTV Digital TV Receiver PIN_TUNER_IN=Antenna In PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=TS Out

Ok thanks, I looked for that and found it before but I overlooked the type2 part.

I'm going to post in this thread so we dont get another saber qam thread. I've had a string of problems here and I'm not going to judge if they are features or bugs or what.
I have saber qam as my #1 tuner device, and saber normal cable as the #2 tuner device. Upon starting up gbpvr.exe: Recording status shows that the SECOND device is doing live tv. Shouldn't it be the first device? It started on a channel that they both have in the EPG. Clicking record: the previously unused FIRST device starts recording, and the screen goes black as the second device stops doing live tv according to the recording status. I have to escape to the main menu, then re-enter live tv, in order to get rid of the black screen and make the previously used but now unused tuner active. Shouldn't it work differently than this? Clicking record on a different channel while the previous recording is still going: Recording status shows both tuners as recording. Clicking Live tv asks which recording to watch because both tuners are active. Clicking the first recording (on the qam device) blinks the screen and goes back to the main menu, so I can't watch that. Clicking the second recording displays that one fine. Clicking stop recording on #1 (qam) in the pending recordings menu stops it. Going to live tv takes seconds to load from a black screen, and then the image is offset to the left by 1/4 with a fraction of a second of the missing part looping on the right hand side from when the signal was first displayed. Quitting live tv and re-entering brings up a "signal not detected" screen with full strength bar and an empty quality bar, then moments later the quality bar skips up and the live tv comes on.... with the 1/4 video offset to the left. The video pauses/skips sometimes in this situation. When both recordings are stopped, I check the recorded files: the .mpg is a 300mb file that works, and the .dvr-ms is a 300 KILOBYTE file that does not work of course. Bonus problem: When zipping the logs I noticed that the GBPVRTray.exe.log had a timestamp several hours into the future, unlike the other logs. When I closed the tray app, the close event was written to the log at the proper time, which is that many hour BEFORE the other events were written. I await sage advice!

Quote:I have saber qam as my #1 tuner device, and saber normal cable as the #2 tuner device. When you schedule a recording it starts at the top of the capture source list and works its way down looking for an available device with the required channel. Live TV does the opposite, starting at the bottom of the list and working its way up. Your logs have got too much stuff in them for me to easily follow. If you reproduce each problem individually and post the logs, then I'll take a look. It'd also help if you provided a brief summary when you post each set of logs (for example, was watching CNN since 9:20 when recording started at 9:30 on MTV, tv went black)

Sub, the above bda.ini entry has a typo in the OTA section:
Quote:FILTER_TUNER=VViXS PureTV ATSC/DVBC TunerQAM section is fine though.

Ok - fixed. Thanks for pointing it out.
