You probably dont have an audio decoder on your machine, or you have it set to 'system default' and Windows is picking a bad one.

Thanks. I've tried several different audio decoders that are listed on my machine (at least I'm asssuming they arew on my machine since they are listed???):
AC3Filter
MPEG Audio Decoder
InterVideo NonCSS Audio Decoder
DScaler Audio Decoder

None of them are working. (But the video looks great! LOL)

I've attached my log files in case something jumps out at you. Thanks!

Sorry, I dont know. There is nothing obvious. Maybe try setting the audio renderer back to 'system default' though, since some audio renderer options cause problems for users.

Just posting off the top of my head here, but you may need a separate sound input (cable) from the satellite tuner to the PVR150. Composite video is just video, no sound. So the PVR150 needs to get its sound input over a separate cable. I think there is a "sound in" jack on the card; it should be a 3.5mm plug and your satellite tuner should have a "sound out" to go with the composite video out. You probably had this connected to the DVR recorder?

If this is not the problem, then Sub's suggestion about working through the audio decoders/renderers is the right thing. AC3 filter has lots of settings, but I would expect it to work out of the box with just plain audio. I use the renderer that has the name of my soundcard/chip, Realtek something in my case.

Thanks!

I'm able to get sound when I do live TV through Windows Media Center, so I'm *guessing* that I don't need a separate audio input from the satellite receiver to the tuner card??? (But honestly I thought I would and was totally scratching my head when I was installing the thing!) I will look anyway and see if there is something I can see down there.

My soundcard is a RealTek something also.

My bil is the one who recommended GBPVR to me, and he said he had to basically try several different combos on his audio as well.

Is there a way to find out which audio decoder and renderer Media Center is using, since whichever combo it is, it's working?

Since the tuner seems to be actually GETTING audio, I should be able to record and burn DVDs without a problem, correct? The only problem (at this point) should be in actually playing it back straight out of GBPVR off this machine?

sub Wrote:You can create a capture source, setting the card type as HVR1600, 'Composite input', and the EPG source to 'none', then 'ok' out of the config app to make sure it is saved, then go back into the capture source settings and use the 'add' button to create a channel called "L1". Ok out of the config app.

Now when you watch live tv, or schedule a manual recording from the Recordings screen, the L1 channel will be listed.

Thank you sub! I've been trying to get my xbox 360 to come up in GB-PVR (hooked up via composite inputs) and have had no luck. I didn't know that I had to leave and come back into the config app to add a channel. To be honest, I've never added a channel because they've always come with my selected schedule lineup.

Also, I didn't bother to google anything or look here on the forums, I just cussed a bit and gave up. This really helps because I found that during a recording I can't get anything to come up in other applications because I assume the service locks the card (I like Media Player Classic for a quick open of the capture card, btw).

This will let me capture and play xbox at the same time... I think. My next recording is in an hour, we'll see.
