starting config runs installer

In the past month or so I have had issues when launching the config. It will act like it is trying to run the installer and complains that the setup files are not there. To temporarily fix this I will download the installer (latest version) and put it on my desktop. When I run the config it find the installer and completes the process and lets me into the config. I have ran the repair as well, but I still get the above scenario from time to time.

Now when I try to start the config, I get a message that it thinks the installer is running and tells me to finish the install first. I should have fixed the original problem in the first place.

Give this a shot. Copy(backup) your config.xml and gbpvr.db3. THen uninstall GB-PVR. Don't delete the gbpvr folder. there will be some stuff left behind. That's OK. Then reinstall gb-pvr form the installer. If things don't look right, restore the config and db3. You should be good to go...

If the installer runs, it'll usually say why in the Windows Event Viewer.

I backed up my files and tried to remove it, but I get the same message that another program is being installed and to wait until it is done.

edit: A simple reboot seems to have fixed it as it just tries to complete the install upon restart. I will remove it and install it again.

Remember to reboot between unistall and reinstall...
