First off I'd like to thank Sub for all his work with GBPVR. I have used it for a few years, but had to switch to satellite and I can't get it up and running.
I've read all I could about if someone wanted to use emunation with GBPVR and I can't quite firgure how to get it working even though if all the files are installed where they should be. The MDAPI icon appears, but only shows the following and there is no sign of emunation running.

11:45:57: MDAPI_CHANNELCHANGE
11:45:54: MDAPI_GET_VERSION: MD-API Version 01.03 - 01.06

It's a fresh install as I formatted my hard drive by mistake trying to install a version of Mythtv :-(
Could someone take a few minutes to put together an up to date guide to getting mdapi and emunation working?

Thanks.

Did you put the file pthreadVC2.dll in gbpvr directory?

I have the ffdecsa.dll and mdapifilter.ax (the contents of mdapi) along with the pthreadvc2.dll (from emunation) in the C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr directory and the other emunation files in the C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\MDPlugins directory.
I ran regsvr32 "c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\mdapifilter.ax" to register.
I also checked the mdapi box under Misc in Config.
I get the MDAPI icon, but it doesn't show any activity of Emunation working. Cable was SO much easierBig Grin

What version of the mdapifilter.ax do you have? There are several versions of it in existance, and I know of at least three different variations on where it'll look for the plugins. If it doesnt find any plugins, you'll get the tray icon, but no plugin listed at the bottom of the popup menu.

Hi Sub,
I have no idea which version of mdapifilter.ax I am using. It wasn't clear anywhere where to get it from or what version, but I think I downloaded it from GBPVR when I found a link to it.

If it came from the gbpvr download link, then it is oldest version, which expects multidec plugins to be in "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\MDPlugins". I'm not familiar with emunation though, so I cant tell you if it has additional DLL dependencies though, that might need to be in other directories.

It appears that if use Steve77's MDAPIFilter.ax and place the emunation files in ...\gbpvr\MDPlugins\AV1 it should all work.
Is this the lastest and greatest method?

I dont know - the project that produces mdapifilter.ax is pretty fractured and there seems to be several branches all heading in different directions. For me the earliest versions have always worked best, but your milage may vary since you're using different plugins to me.

Fractured seems to be a mild way to put it.
Now I have to get all the other bugs worked out.

where are the other versions of mdapi - i might have to try the others - as having issues with getting acamd working with gbpvr - it gets a key when working directly on com1 (but doesnt show pic) - but then if i stop gbpvr - and setup to work via a newcs server - it then loads and shows pic etc. but when the keys roll (which seems to be 30 mins or so) - it halts. almost seems like the newcs sever isnt processing the emm/ecm maybe? even tho im using the newcamd protocol which should support it all.

im struggling to figure out what the problem is...
