Well, first off yeehah on 2 counts, (i) my long non-working resume is now working and (ii) NMT is now supported (and I just GBPVR via the PCH A-100 via HDMI this a.m., need to tweak the position though. (thanks to Martin!)

Not so yeehah is that the once good-looking smooth fonts on the MVP seem to have been replaced by larger, blockier-looking ugliness. Has something changed here .

I'm not aware of anything that has changed with the fonts. I guess its not easy to get a screenshot either?

Do you have <MVPLoadPluginsEarlier> set to true in config.xml? If so, does setting it to false make any difference?

Nope, set to false as is. I can try and dig-photo it when I get home tonight (many hours yet ... )

Also note that running in full screen 480i might not all that great, IMHO. SD content on HD devices is actually a week point. and GBPVR is still really running in SD res. Let's just say that there aren't a lot of users out there!

One thing you will have to do (using EditPad Lite) is to add --display=720x480 to your command line to change the surface to match the TV. This could help. Also I am pretty sure that I will be able to tell the PCH to output 480p which should give a much nicer picture.

Martin,

Yes the blockiness I see is when using the PCH as well, but my initial comment was actually directed at using the MediaMVP normally as I have for some time, which was OK in the previous version.

I am using the newest community skin and notice that the fonts are a little choppy as well. No complaints, just wanted to add that I am seeing the same thing.

BTW, I am watching SD on a SD CRT TV.

Ah, glad I have some support with this! I was trying to convince myself it was my imagination but, no, the font is weak with squared off rounded bits. Changing the config.xml setting did nothing.

Must admit it looks a lot better at night.

The attached image shows the squared shapes but maybe they have always been like this?? The image shows solid white which is not realistic.

That'w close to what I'm seeing. Bigger fonts, closer together, more blocky. And it's different to what was there before, for sure.

Just to say that I see that same thing, not a big problem but certainly the menu fonts have increased in size.
Other than that the upgrade has been completely painless, as usual.

I should mention that I only use with MVP (mvpmc) and having just run up PXR2 on the server I'm not convinced the fonts look bigger there but as I don't use that I couldn't be sure as I can't remember what they were like before.

Many thanks.
