I've gotten into skinning because of this. I did a compare and see why sub says nothing dramatic has changed. The main menu displays more items and are 'squished' together now, but not much else has changed.

But I have seen a weirdness to fonts on th mvp too. I modded the blue skin to enlarge all the fonts a bit and that helps. And it all look better with Martin's mvpmc dongle for some reason.

It's almost like the MVP is displaying on composite rather than svideo, and everything is blockier and fuzzier/blurrier. But for me that's impossible as I'm only using the svideo cable, so only one path for the video to the TV...

The only change on the main menu the menu is that it is now showing seven items instead of five. To do this they're slightly closer together. The fonts are all the same though. The center item of the seven menu item might be a few pixels taller, but the other fonts on the menu (and throughout the app) are all exactly the same size and typeface.

I fired up the MVP a few minutes ago double check, and what I'm seeing up tallies up with what I know was changed.

I suspect having the extra items on the main menu is playing tricks with your mind...

You can get 5 items back on the main menu with the following change to .\skin2\blue\menu\skin.xml. Change

Code:
<Placement name="MenuButtonOrigin" loc="55,23" scrollDuration="0.25" itemCount="7" withInsetX="75" offset="6.5" rightShift="true" alpha="200"/>

to

Code:
<Placement name="MenuButtonOrigin" loc="55,25" scrollDuration="0.25" itemCount="5" withInsetX="75" offset="8.5" rightShift="true" alpha="200"/>

I'll do this, to check if my mind is playing tricks (that NEVER heppens), I'm also seeing a different sort of thing on the other pages. Now I know that you have said nothing on the skin had changed. I'm wondering what else could it be. It's like rendering on the MVP is starting to go. THat could be a one off, but now there are others seeing 'something'

And I do see a marked improvement (dare I say perfection for svideo) using mvpmc over the default 1.2.9 dongle...

You're being suitably vague, so I dont really have anything to go on. I really dont think anything has changed, and it looks the same to me.

Something different that I am personally seeing is in the TV Guide (although not sure if this is skin related or pvrx2 related). The channel numbers and call letters are all squished together. As you get into the three digit channels, the last number and first letter overwrite each other. (This occurs on my client laptop or the MVP).

This doesn't affect my viewing pleasure in the least bit, but thought I would share since you asked.

Thanks again for the update and all your hard word sub!

I cant see that having changed from 1.1.x. Do you think it has? I wouldnt be surprised if something needs tweaking in the skin, but it should be exactly the same as the last release.

I noticed it right away (as well as the blocky letters talked about earlier) after the upgrade to 1.2.9 AND the new community skin. Although I should have taken one step at a time, I installed 1.2.9 immediately followed by the new skin. So, not sure when the "issue" came about.

Again, not a big deal, I just thought I would throw it out there since you asked. Being somewhat new to this whole program, I have alot to learn and try not to ask too many questions unless I just really don't know or am stumped.

Have you tried it with the blue skin?

I will tonight when I get home. Guess I should debug a little more before just spouting out at the mouth. ;-)
