Hi,
I keep seeing lots of mentions of ffdshow and I get an idea of why its useful, but is there a handy summary of when and why GBPVR uses it and what ffdshow settings are useful?

if you click "enable ffdshow" in the config app, every video that is played will use the settings you have configured in ffdshow. to configure ffdshow click the "configure video ..." (or something like that) in the ffdshow menu off the start menu. there are options like crop, resize, deinterlace etc whatever is checked there, gbpvr will use for all videos, eg live tv (only in timeshift mode), dvds (doesnt work, i think in the current release thou, fixed in the next one thou), xvids, divxs, mov, etc. to test if its working, enable "OSD" in ffdshow, and if the ffdshow OSD is displayed, then it works (its just an OSD displaying the framerate/frame size etc, mostly used for debugging). ffdshow can require a fast machine however, but for basic aspect ratio/subtitles stuff you should be fine with anything above 1ghz.
