I've just upgraded from 1.1.5 to 1.2.9 on my Vista machine and the sound has gone on my BBC HD channel.
The strange thing is its ok when watching in live preview mode but as soon as I pause then play then the sound is gone.
also my existing hd recordings have no sound now.

Standard def is ok.

I can play my HD recordings in Wmp11 and Graphedit.
The BBC HD files have the TS extension
Graphedit uses PCM H264/AVC Decoder and AC3Filter
I have tried various video and audio settings in config but no change.
Looking at the log it seems that Mpeg Audio Decoder is always used for HD content no matter what settings I use in config.
Haali splitter does no show up as a tray icon when viewing HD recorded files in GBPVR.

When I revert back to Ver 1.1.5 my sound is back.

logs attached.

Try setting <UseBuiltInTSReader>false</UseBuiltInTSReader> in config.xml to see if it helps.

If you have access to a web server, and can supply a 15 second or so recording, then I'll take a look what it doesnt like about recordings from this channel.

Out of interest, what happens when you fast-forward a recorded BBC HD program? That causes all sorts of picture break-up and out of sync issues for me with 1.2.9.

Same advice for you. Try <UseBuiltInTSReader>false</UseBuiltInTSReader>.

Same here for me I'm afraid sub, sound but no picture with that setting. I've gone back to 1.1.5 for now.

With it set to false, it should be exactly the same as the last release for playing back recordings (ie, use your system default TS source filter and decoders). Play one of these files then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

I am getting a similar problem which may or may not be related.

After upgrading to 1.2.9 I can now view TV as it is recording however the recordings have no sound. I have tried playing back in multiple players but no luck.

I have not tried reverting to 1.1.5 and infact the only recordings I have done in 1.1.5 were with AC3 audio whereas now I am using AAC so it could be a problem with that. I will try and record from the AC3 channels tonight and see if that still works. I am at work at the moment so no logs available but when I did a test recording yesterday nothing in the logs looked out of the ordinary to me.

Will let you know more when I can find it out.

Here's the logs showing playback of, firstly, a BBC HD program (BBC HD Preview) which played just sound and no picture, then secondly a different program (Emmerdale) from a different (non-HD) channel, which played back OK.

Rats! It's just occurred to me that the logs I've just attached are from 1.1.5. I'll have to upgrade to 1.2.9 again and do it again.
