Was that a pre-existing recording, or one you just scheduled and started watching while it was recording? If it was still recording, can you please post the logs of playing a pre-existing file?

Yeah they were both still recording. I'll go back up to 1.2.9 after dinner and try it with a pre-existing file... back in an hour or so...

1.2.9 is a first version that'll attempt to play an in-progress recording of a .ts file, so its not a fair comparison with 1.1.5, which is why I'd prefer to play a pre-existing file with that setting set to 'false'. This should give the same result as 1.1.5.

So it appears I don't have a problem after all. The recordings I have done play perfectly in GB-PVR, they just don't seem to work in anything else - VLC failed to play while PowerDVD and Windows Media Player failed to play sound.

That may indicate that there is a problem with the ts file but I am more inclined to believe that they just haven't caught up with NZ format DVB-T yet.

Lucky for us GB-PVR has Smile

This is normal. Most things cant play the AAC LATM audio they have started using on our DVB-T system.

I'm sure over time you'll see updates to other apps like VLC to add support for it.

What TS source filter were you using prior to 1.2.9? HDTV Pump, Haali splitter, something else? It shows no sign of one of these being available.

Try applying the attached patch, and setting <UseBuiltInTSReader> back to true. I had to make a small tweak, but now get audio with the supplied sample.

For what its worth, I've been able to get BBC HD in both the last versions with no problems. Any problems I have had with video file playback in general have stemmed from the fact that I once was daft enough to get into playing around with downloaded codecs. (Kept me out of trouble for a month or two, tho').

What I've learned is that with codecs, less is often more. If you have the K-Lite codec management tool, you can temporarily switch off vast numbers of codecs and then gradually re-enable them, checking which ones affect which applications. The GraphEdit tool is also very useful in this respect, as it demonstrates how enabling some codecs cause graphs to suddenyl change (and hence often cease to function properly).

In general though, there's a block of MS codecs (including BDA) that MUST be enabled in order to have Windows MCE or WMP11 do anything useful. And GB-PVR Config also requires at least the MS MPEG Splitter (mpg2split.ax) in order to scan for TV channels. Also note that if you have the nVidia Pure Video codecs and disable them, you will have to set them up again for each individual program that uses them after re-enabling. A can only assume therefore that this is also true for other codecs that retain 'per-application' settings.

Could it be that per-application settings have been lost because you disabled or over/re-installed codecs? Best check that too.
